My chosen profession as an academic librarian allows me opportunities daily to take the questions of students and guide them toward answers.  When providing reference service I am not a traditional classroom teacher, still I affect the critical thinking and higher level decision making that academic study requires. I also work with classes nearly every day teaching library and research skills but it is the promise of discovery that motivates me. This does not lessen the importance of my role, but instead defines it. I consider each student interaction as a precious and vital chance to build his/her independence as researchers and inspire them to become excited about their education.   I am grateful for each occasion I have to work with students one-on-one because it is a different yet essential learning experience for them and an invaluable teaching opportunity for me.  I am very committed to helping students and believe that my guidance helps to build lifelong learning skills and increases their level of success as college students.

I look forward to offering a high level of library service to students at LIU Post.
